My Students
My students are bright, ambitious, eager to learn, and are fun to teach. They are hard-working, generous, cooperative, and take their education very seriously. But, many are economically disadvantaged and require additional resources in my reading class.
My students will be unable to engage in a typical classroom environment over the next month or so due to my county's distance learning requirement.
My tenth-grade students are determined to learn, and I am too. My classroom consists of 90% male and 10% females, with low to high educational abilities. High needs, special needs to challenging and talented are all in one classroom. My school strives to reach every student, no matter who they are or where they come from. I want to overcome the hindrances and everyday snags to enhance technology to re-engage my students.
My students love technology, and being able to see me active and standing up will brighten up their day.
My Project
Teaching virtually has proven to be challenging both mentally and physically this past spring. To prepare for the upcoming fall semester's virtual school, I need to think about strategies that will make my students' virtual learning better.
I plan to create postcards using the laminator and sticker paper for special occasion.
Students love receiving rewards, especially at home.
The standing desk is to help me teach with ease and comfort. I am normally actively walking around my classroom so sitting and looking at a laptop has been quite a change. A standing desk will allow me to stand while interacting with students, planning or grading. This will create an overall more comfortable environment at home which will make a more efficient and effective teacher.
