This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of our students come from economically disadvantaged households where the challenges of daily life can often interfere with their ability to attend school regularly. For these students, attending school can be a difficult due to factors such as financial stress, family responsibilities, or even the need to help with their families work until late hours on school nights. These barriers disproportionately affect students in low-income communities, where a lack of resources and support systems can leave students struggling to maintain consistent attendance.
They often don’t get gifts for special occasions or holidays.
To be able to provide them with rewards/incentives to attend school would not only lift their spirits but allow them to feel recognized for their effort and persistence, which can increase their connection to the school and reduce feelings of isolation.
