My Students

If I could only use 2 words to describe my students, it would be determined and diverse! They are 9th, 11th, and 12th graders from different countries and in their homes, English is their second language. Most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and will be the first ones in their families to graduate from high school.

They understand how important their education is and want to be better prepared for college.

To do this, they have elected to take rigorous classes even though it can be challenging at times.

They are truly an amazing group of young adults that have overcome many obstacles.

My Project

Many of my students are struggling being back in the classroom. It has been a hard transition from learning at home to learning in the classroom. I love it when my students participate in discussions and ask questions. However, this year they are needing a little more encouragement. I would like to provide as many rewards and prizes that will motivate them to participate in class. You would be surprised by how excited high schools students will get for winning a prize such as candy, erasers, pencils, and key chains.
