My Students

I have twenty-eight students my class...several that come from homes with literally nothing. All of them enter my room every morning with a smile on their face and a willingness to learn that makes one forget that several of them have not eaten since they had lunch here the day before. Many of these happy little 7-year-olds have worn the same clothes for days in a row and sleep in a bed with several siblings...or on the couch.

The fact that these little guys come to school every day and learn, is a testament to their spirit.

They love school and pleasing their teacher. They give all they can during the day and don't want to leave. Our room is a safe haven for these 2nd graders and I am proud to provide a cozy, happy place for them during the day!

My Project

Part of my classroom climate comes from an amazing reward system that I have in place. I only focus on positive behaviors and reward such behaviors throughout the day. This works wonders for anyone wanting to not follow the rules as they see their classmates being rewarded for doing GOOD! With this in place, we tend to have VERY FEW behavior issues. By adding some new, interesting and crazy rewards, the kids will be even more motivated to behave and do the right thing each day in our class. These fun stickers, markers, tactile, manipulative and fun gum packs are sure to do the trick!
