Help me give my students Crayola Twistable Crayons, Minecraft Legos, Lego Friends' lego sets, STEM Learning Set, various board games, motivational stress balls, and drawing paper.
I teach in a large, urban kindergarten through eighth grade school with a large population of students with special needs and other health impairments. All of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Moreover, the students have diverse backgrounds with various family situations.
My students are in grades four and five.
They have special needs and other health impairments that impede their learning on a daily basis. Unfortunately, these struggles prove to be too much for the students, so, they are easily frustrated and lack the motivation to learn.
My Project
Due to my students' various special needs and health impairments, especially, ADD and ADHD, they struggle with their basic reading and math skills, which, causes them to frustrate easily and give up on academic tasks. Therefore, I have implemented a positive behavior support system to decease negative behavior due to frustration. However, I would like to offer my students more incentives to complete their work and maintain positive behavior, so, they remain on task and engaged in their academics.
Therefore by requesting the Minecraft and Friends Lego sets, the STEM Learning set, the Crayola Twistable Crayons, the drawing paper, the motivational stress balls, and the various board games, my students will be more motivated to maintain positive behavior through the use of these engaging rewards.
I would like my students to be able to earn a weekly reward through the use of the incentive "Clip It" chart and a marble jar to be utilized as a whole group incentive, as well as, be able to offer my students activities they can do either individually, in pairs, or in small groups through the use of the various requested materials.
