Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students work hard in class every day from bell to bell. Our class motto is "progress over perfection" and our focus is on student growth. Many times students come to my class and have a pure hate for the subject of math. My goal every year is to ensure every child feels success and learns not only the content, but learns to love math.
Rewards are key to student success and allow students to monitor their own learning to reach the level of mastery they are capable of.
The smallest of rewards make a huge impact on my students and help engage every student in reaching for the highest level of success. Students are rewarded for behavior, participation in class discussions, and for mastery of content. I have a rewards cart that students are able to select items from to motivate them to keep pushing forward to do their best.
