My Project
In my classroom, I feel it is important to acknowledge and reward good behavior, excellence on assessments, and also for returning paperwork in a timely manner. The tool that I use is to have a treasure box that my students are able to pick a prize from. In this project, I am asking for a variety of toys, erasers, and pencils that will provide a variety of rewards in my box.
One of my student's favorite prizes to choose from the treasure box is specialty pencils.
They love the designs of the pencils and think it's cool to write with fancy pencils.I am also asking for pencil toppers and animal erasers that they will really enjoy. I think that they will also enjoy the emoji erasers and will also use them during their work. Some of the other things that I am requesting are individual playdoh, glow rings, and fidgets. I think that boys and girls will enjoy this variety and strive to do their best so that they can earn their chance to get a prize.
I have seen a great improvement in the number of signed papers that are returned which includes field trip papers, signed assessments, signed progress reports by adding this incentive. My students also are allowed to choose a prize if they receive a 100% on any assessments and when they earn enough tickets from their good behavior. This encourages them to do their best and to study on a daily basis.
