Every school year, students struggle with closing the math gaps that were created during COVID. As an 8th grade math teacher, I push my students to close those gaps before they enter high school.
Each week, I have my students work on their math skills (at their independent skill levels) either using MyPath within I-Ready or IXL.
If students complete and pass two lessons by the end of the week, they are rewarded with a snack or prize of their choosing. They love working towards snacks that they can eat in class. I am asking for donors to help fund the snacks and prizes that my students earn.
During the last school year, my students made huge growth, and we are starting to see those gaps closing. I would love to continue to implement these rewards for my current students.
