Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Witnessing how life can change in such a short amount of time and staying locked in a house for almost a year can be very traumatic. These are some of the few things our students went through these past few years, and, as a result, they are struggling with their school work. Due to the class closures of the pandemic, many students are now below their grade level in all subject areas.
I want to be able to make learning a place of joy, comfort, and exploration.
I believe a PlayStation 5 would help me do just that. With a PlayStation 5, my students will be able to engage in many STEM activities such as learning how to build a game with game builders, learning how to code with coding games, and exploring nature with an interactive encyclopedia. They will also be able to use it as a tool to explore and learn about Chinese New Year through virtual experiences on Google Maps and Google Earth, allowing them to interact with the customs and celebrations associated with this important cultural holiday.
Additionally, the PS5 will help students better understand how technology is used to experience and share different cultures, making learning both fun and culturally enriching. All of these activities will make learning exciting and enjoyable, helping students understand that learning can be experienced in different ways.
