My Students

My students love expressing themselves with classwork that enables their potential to shine! They are in a Special Education classroom and enjoy group discussions, writing short essays, and doing math problems on the board. They are a lively bunch who need a few behavioral nudges/incentives from time to time but typically have the best of intentions in my classroom.

Unfortunately, many of my students are bound to certain exceptionalities and struggle appropriately portraying how they want to be understood.

With that in mind, many are on behavior plans to reinforce positive behavior not only in our Special Education classroom but also in the "real World".

My Project

HELLO! I plan to use the items requested for rewarding positive behavior! The totes will store the soft drinks and treats in a safe environment within my classroom. The treats and drinks will be EARNED weekly by the Special Education students with Behavior Plans. Many Special Education students are on a Behavior Plan that is charted daily & for good behavior they receive a motivational treat!

A Behavior Plan is deemed necessary when a student continually misbehaves and finds themselves in detention or suspended; in order to motivate students toward successful behavior we have implemented a reward system; this system cannot work without your help!

As the Special Education teacher, I will be tracking student behavior on a weekly basis. Once scored, students may receive treats for behaving appropriately for the prior week. In a low-income area, giving incentives, especially treats, works wonders! Unfortunately, our public school system cannot afford these items in our budget. This is where you come into play and are able to donate items to a more than worthy cause.
