Having fun incentives to entice students of all ability levels to participate in class, do their assignments, and have appropriate behavior and social interactions will help improve their academics and social-emotional skills. During class, I give out raffle tickets for students making good choices, showing respect, solving problems appropriately, and participating. I draw 3-5 raffle tickets per period which means I go through 18-30 prizes a day. My prize stash is getting low, and the options to choose from are getting picked through.
Many of my students struggle to complete their assignments or participate by asking or answering questions, so rewarding them for a good work ethic and class participation will give them motivation to successfully make positive academic choices.
This helps them work hard in class and at home to earn the fun prizes.
The party favor trinkets and snacks will give the students many options to choose from including snacks, stickers, and different fun writing utensils.
