Reward Learning, Working, and Behaving

My students need the royal treatment for their hard work, such as; hanging hammock chairs, smelly markers, Find It bottles and Boogie Boards.

My Students

My students are hands down, the best seven and eight year old children you will ever meet! They have a such a passion for learning and coming to school everyday, even at such a young age. I want to keep it that way! They come to me on a huge variety of learning levels, classroom needs and home backgrounds. We push that aside and become one big learning family, who helps and supports one another all day and year long. They truly are a blessing to be with everyday.

My Project

I become so proud of a student when they continually show me they are ready to learn, work and behave in my classroom. These skills do not just come naturally to 7 and 8 year old children. It takes a lot of reinforcement, modeling and positive praise.

Children become ecstatic when I praise them for their positive attitude, strong work ethic and excellent behavior choices.

It is an awesome feeling to be able to teach a small group of children and know the rest of the class is learning, working and behaving, even if I'm not right in front of them.

I would love to be able to reward the top boy and girl each week. If they proved that they were excellent role models in the classroom, specials, playground, bus and lunchroom then they would be rewarded. They would be able to sit in the special hanging hammock seats to do their work (how cool is that?!), use the Boogie Boards instead of paper/pencil, use the smelly markers (an all time favorite!) to decorate their poster and have a period of down time to use the Find It jars with a peer!

I think these weekly rewards would be a huge incentive for my boys and girls to come to school everyday ready to learn, work and behave!
