My Students

My high school serves students who have lived in the United States for four years or less. There is a welcoming environment in the school with many support services, ranging from providing help in legal matters to meeting the medical needs of the students. The school allows the new immigrants to learn about the world around them while developing their English skills.

All the students of the school have diverse linguistic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.

The diversity of the school allows the students to develop respect for other cultures and values while finding out their place in this world and how they can bring change for better. Students also work collaboratively on projects designed to bring out the richness of their cultures, experiences, and personalities. Students have the opportunity to be placed in an internship in 11th grade that matches their career interests.

My Project

All of our students come from all over the world. They have arrived to NYC within the last 4 years and have a primary language other than English. Many of our students face many barriers like family separation, cultural assimilation, language acquisition, poverty and trauma. Daily attendance is not an easy feat considering so many obstacles.

We want to recognize our 11th and 12th graders who have Perfect Attendance with a special field trip just for them.

These are students who come to school every single day, rain or shine, sickness or health, because they value their education that much. Many teachers strive for such a perfect attendance record!

These students are our ambassadors, who every day, help new students acclimate to our school. They are on paths for great futures. We want to help them accomplish their dreams.

We also feel they deserve to be recognized and rewarded for their efforts. Due to our school budget, we have limited opportunities to take them for special activities. This is where you come in. A small contribution can help bring them to see one of NYC's premier museums.

Thanks in advance for your support!
