My students need a physical light-up model and color illustrations to help them visualize and understand the relationship between Earth's axis, tilt, rotation, revolution, and our seasons. They also need a printer.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 4th grade math and science at a Title I school in Tampa, Florida. Over 85% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. We have a high minority and English language learner population, as 69% of the school is Hispanic and 37% are still learning English.
Even with these obstacles, my students can be successful!
With the help of the right resources, they grow and learn at an astounding rate. I am proud to be their teacher!
My Project
During 4th grade, students learn about the relationship between Earth's tilt, orbit and our seasons. As 9 and 10 year olds, they have difficulty understanding a concept that they will probably never experience firsthand, like actually going into space. They need a hands-on method, combined with good color visuals, to comprehend a subject that is particularly abstract.
An illuminated model and color copier will help my students comprehend the relationships between Earth's axis, tilt, rotation, revolution, orbit and the 4 seasons.
They will get the benefit of an illuminated, hands-on, movable model incorporated with high quality printed visuals and text.
