My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds, but all come together for one purpose: to learn more about the world around them.

I teach geography and whether I have a reluctant learner or a world-traveler, I want my students to understand their role in the world, and know that they can TRULY make a difference.

Their diverse backgrounds come from living in different states and countries (many are part of military families), speaking different languages, and a variety of life experiences that have already shaped them. My classroom is a safe place where students can explore the world and see the world around them through various diverse lenses.

My Project

My AP Human Geography students took a leap of faith by taking their first Advanced Placement class in 9th grade AND during a time of global uncertainty! These tools will be crucial in helping them review for the AP Exam, where they can earn their first 3 college credits! The Economist will keep students current on world events directly related to our curriculum. The books, index cards, and highlighters will be used at home for students to study and review. The buzzer game will be used in class to create excitement as we review all seven units, and the chalk will be used to draw and review models!
