My Students
Our students are from a small, rural, community. As you know a lot of funding has been cut from Oklahoma Schools, including ours. I am a Media Specialist for 7th-12th grades. A lot of our books are outdated and in need of replacing or repairing. I would just like to see our kids “excited” about coming into the library. If we gain any new materials from this website, we will be most appreciative. My promise is: I will set these books up in the most inviting way possible, make sure both faculty and students have access to them, and even share them with both schools. Thank you!
My Project
Our Library is on it's way up! Even though we haven't had a lot of library funding, if any, in the last several years, we still do fundraisers and do book swaps and many other things to get new, and exciting materials for our Jr. High and High School Students. My overall goal is to create a reading environment that will encourage students and stimulate them to make reading a part of their every day lives. I want to display the books that many have mentioned to me, including teachers and students. I see the students in their English classes on a regular basis. When they come to the library, I dont want them to say, " I can't find anything that looks interesting." I want them to say, "You have that book now? I can't wait to read it!!

While we have such a desire to get these materials into our kid's hands, we lack the necessary funding to do so. We would be very grateful and appreciative to you in this matter. Thank you for taking time to read and assist us in revamping our school libraries!
