My Students
We are Pre-K classroom filled with students from many different cultural backgrounds. We service children between the ages of 3-5 (some with IEPs) that come from low-income, poverty level neighborhoods.
Their creativity is boundless and their excitement is contagious.
They are a highly curious group that love to explore their surroundings. And though their home lives may be challenging, they still walk through the door every morning with a big smile ready to start their day.
Having the proper materials is crucial to providing a fun, safe environment that will set the foundation for their learning for years to come.
My Project
Over the years, the items in our Dramatic Play area have been either lost or broken. The couch has been ripped and the mirror has a dull reflection and no longer shines.
By adding some new items, we hope to revitalize this center and stimulate our student's creativity.
New toy appliances and a couch will help bring in the comforts of home. Toy household items will add literacy, and a mirror and puppet theater will help expand their imaginations while enhancing role-playing, language and social skills.
Learning through play is crucial part to a child's development. These items will help reinforce the above skills and help strengthen their cognitive abilities.
