My Project

Let's be honest: if you ask your average elementary school student what their favorite part of the day is, they'll say recess!

At our school, we see the benefits of recess and want to make it even more fun for our students.

When we moved into our new campus five years ago, we got wonderful new play structures along with a huge amount of open field space. Now, we want to make recess more engaging by using that space more meaningfully.

We are requesting a storage shed to keep our new recess supplies safe. We're also requesting hula hoops as the first supply in our new shed. This shed will live on our 2nd through 5th grade playground and will allow students easy access to activities like soccer, hopscotch, and cornhole. Our hope is that by making recess more engaging, we will see positive growth in our students' relationships, behavior, and social-emotional learning.
