Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are almost all from low income families, and most have returned to the school building this year for the first time in 18 months. They are adapting to being in a classroom setting again, with many people, and many rules.
It has been a tough adjustment for many kids that are used to being in their own homes all day, and having limited access to some resources, while having others right at their disposal.
My Project
Students are still adapting to being back in school full time. Many are used to being home where water is easily accessible, and they have the benefit of cups and glasses to drink it.
Having reusable water bottles will fit with our school's goal this year of being more sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
They will also allow students to limit their visits to water fountains during a time where disease is still spreading.
With stickers, students will be able to personalize their bottles, and have a fun, small activity to give them a break during their day.
