Help me give my students a learning environment that promotes hands on activities, tangible books and mental wellness after a year of distant learning in the 2020-21 school year.

My Students

My students and school are located on a small Hawaiian island called Lana'i. The students have different cultural backgrounds and special learning needs. They are enthusiastic about learning and are curious about life outside of their remote experiences on Lana'i.

My Project

My students have specific learning needs that were difficult to meet last year with online learning. They became disillusioned with school and suffered from emotional stress.

The materials that I have selected will allow them to have tangible books to read to support the curriculum at their reading levels and hands on learning activities that enables them to have fun and be engaged.

The yoga mats will be used to promote emotional wellness with daily mindfulness practices, brain breaks and wellness activities. Students will have access to the yoga mats at anytime of the day and will be encourage to practice self care when ever they need it.
