My Students
Our sixth grade is comprised of 130 amazing students, many of whom come from bilingual households and receive free or reduced-price lunch. Thriving in an ocean of opportunity, on last year's end of grade test, the shark team showed remarkable academic growth, regardless of demographics. In fact, several of our learners made grade level proficiency in Language Arts and Math for the first time in several years. We need your assistance as we swim toward the shore of academic success.
My Project
We are seeking your support as we continue our attempt to maintain our classroom set of Chromebooks and additional technology. We need to maintain and ensure these valuable resources will always be available in our classroom for use with interactive software, for research and projects and to enhance mathematical understanding. In addition to the Chromebooks, we are requesting headsets to replace ten that no longer work, a couple of replacement Chromebook chargers, board erasers (for station work) and label tape for identifying all of our DonorsChoose.org supplies.
One key to our overall end of grade growth was the use of computer resources in the classroom (I-Ready, and Khan Academy).
We need your assistance to continue this progress as we swim toward the shore of academic success.
The shortfall is that we have to share a computer cart with four classes on our grade level and the technology department in our school can pull the carts and headphones to meet testing needs in the building. The acquisition of the items described above will meet our current needs as we seek to restore and move forward in meeting the 21st century technology needs of our learners.
