Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I have the privilege of working as a school counselor. My students just came back from a long hiatus due to Covid. Most of them are excited to spend time with their friends. Quite a few of them are nervous and anxious about being back to a school environment especially the 6th graders that are just starting middle school. My students care about their school environment, community, and each other.
Socio-emotional leaning is at the forefront of this school year.
My students can all benefit from a lot of emotional and financial support. As a counselor working in a Title I school, the need for additional resources to benefit the emotional well-being of the community is a priority.
My Project
I am requesting snacks my students need to be successful learners! This project is to ensure no student goes hungry during these hard times. Many families are suffering hardships from the current COVID-19 crisis and families of our students have expressed they are unable to afford food at this time.

My students expressed a need for snacks to help keep them alert and motivated to learn, especially after they exercise and play sports in gym class.
This project will help my students to have a snack, like almonds or chips, to help them keep focused and learning successfully and have the energy needed before and after their gym workouts! Students are more open to learning when they have a full belly. It is always necessary to have a snack available for students. I want my students to know that they can always pass by my office to pick up a snack throughout the day especially after their gym class.
