Help me give my students writing utensils, and rewards for positive reinforcement in the classroom. Simply looking to restock the classroom to get us through the second half the year! Any support would be appreciated!!!
Despite not having access to the most current resources available, I love that my students are still willing to put in the work to achieve their goals and dreams. Some may be small goals of passing the content while others are long term like entering nursing, dental or medical programs post high school, but nothing stops a student with the right attitude! I could not be prouder of them.
This past year I taught all biology classes, and I'm moving up with my students to Chemistry.
Despite a Covid year, and all the closures and remote teaching we had to do, these kids managed to have a 10% increase in the number of students to not only pass the biology STAAR test, but a 50% increase in the masters/commended category. This is the highest it has been in the last 5 years prior! They have been amazing despite their challenges both academically and personally!
My Project
We are half way there and the students are still at it. I'm looking for support to replenish some items we have consumed the first semester in the classroom. This includes pens & pencils and small size treats to reward them for "winning" as they call it in class. We do a lot of reinforcement activities and have consumed our first semester supplies. Many students cannot afford their own writing utensils and it falls on the teachers to supplement them with their needs. Students will use these pens and pencils in class on their daily work in their science notebooks for the notes, labs, and journaling exercises that we complete on a daily basis. Any help to get us through to the end of the year would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for supporting the students and my classroom to get through the year!!
