My Students

My students are a group of middle schoolers at a charter school who love to learn both visually and through hands-on engagements. These kids love to learn by working with their hands and becoming engaged in the activities that we are doing, which means we do projects whenever possible. We receive only 70% of the funds available to district schools, so we rely on other means to help us fill the gaps.

My students learn best when they can actually work with an item that expands on the concepts they have heard about through lectures in class.

My Project

We use a lot of supplies in school and by this time of the year, we find that some things are in need of replacement.

We need pencil sharpeners, lanyards, and ID pouches, laminating pouches, and file folders for our classroom.

We have lovingly used all the pencil sharpeners that we had and we need to replace some of them. The lanyards and ID pouches will be used to keep temporary badges in for the students. Sometimes students forget their badges so they need a temporary one to use for a day.

We are finishing up the year with lap books so students can demonstrate what they have learned in space science. The file folders will be great vehicles for the lap books.

Many of our centers will be used multiple years so we like to laminate them to keep them usable for multiple years.
