Help me give my students basic supplies like pencils, toner cartridges, and an electric pencil sharpener that always need to be replenished throughout the year!
Our school is a Title I School, located in a small, rural county. Our classrooms are filled with a diverse makeup of students that include English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and gifted students. Our students are very eager to learn, and they come to school excited for a new day. Most of our students come from low-income households, where there are limited budgets for school materials and supplies; however, their families are very supportive and very involved our school community!
My Project
Our school is a Title I school. Therefore, we as teachers are limited in what we are allowed to request from parents on beginning of the year school supply lists.
As the school year progresses, and as basic school supplies are consumed, they are not often replenished.
Teachers frequently have to replace these items themselves with their personal funds.
Our students will benefit greatly from having a stock of pencils and erasers since these are necessary supplies that tend to be consumed the quickest. They would also benefit from having a quality pencil sharpener to keep their pencils sharp and ready so they can complete their daily assignments. During the course of the school year, the classroom printer tends to run out of ink. New ink cartridges are necessary for printing learning aides and engaging activities that supplement the curriculum.
