My Students

We seriously have some of the best students in our small-town elementary school. I have only just received my class list and started to get to know my students' names and faces.

Third grade students are always ready to try something new and because of that, I want to be a better teacher every day.

I want to grow with them! Our school includes over 60% free or reduced-price lunch recipients, but together our community, parents, and staff work to get us everything we need. I am so grateful to have wonderful people like you also partnering with us to help get our students everything they so deserve.

Although this year may look a little different whether in person, online, or a mix of both, I know we'll build our classroom community and become the family we always are.

We have over 370 students at our elementary school. Every student is unique and every student has a different story. There is a portion of our student population who needs help with basic necessities, so that they can thrive like their peers.

My Project

This project includes salad kits, crackers, granola bars, and other non-perishable food items that are currently included in our backpack meals every other week.

This project will provide non-perishable food items to allow us to send meals home with students on the weeks they do not receive backpack meals and snacks to eat at home when they get off the bus.

Our backpack meal program serves our students in need over weekends and extended breaks, but only every other week. We don't want any of our students going hungry when our school isn't in session, so this project would meet the need every week. This food shelf will allow us to privately care for our students and remove the worry caused by hunger. We know that when a student's most basic need is met, they will also be able to learn.

This project would also provide snacks to students that would like a snack for when they get off the school bus each night.
