it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a wonderful batch of students this school year. In my inner city school, you can't know the supplies the students need or will love until we wrap up the school year. As I'm sitting here going through my supplies at the end of this year, I came up with a list of things my students and I have gone through that would be beneficial to have a "refill" of, before the new school year starts.
These supplies would help me and my students start the new school year right!
We are in desperate need of new whiteboard markers (we are currently rocking one black one and one brown/purple colored one, the others have died on us). I have run out of key chains for our reading prize box (students can earn prizes for completing reading tasks, and this year's students LOVE getting collectible items). We are very low on those binder clips, which I use to give students back their paper assignments so they can keep their work organized. We would love to have a gavel in the classroom, which would add some levity when we have open debates (versus me just clapping to get their attention). We will need a new school year calendar to keep track of events happening in the new school year, as well as the organizer so the students have one central place to go to when they want to borrow supplies in the classroom. Plus, I am happily out of bookmarks so I need to restock them before my new students arrive!
