My Project
My students are amazing, bright, and wonderful 5th graders. They come from a mixture of backgrounds, and ethnicities. The diversity in our class makes them so well rounded and compassionate for their peers. They deserve the best!
However, COVID-19 has impacted some of my student's learning.
Some kids have gotten used to staying at home during the pandemic that it is a struggle for them to come to school. Others have very short attention span that they often need to have brain breaks. We do a lot of "quick art" as brain breaks! During Fun Fridays, a lot of my students choose to do ART instead of playing board games. They are deserving to have art supplies to help them unwind and destress.
The snacks would be a great addition to help restock our class store and feed their hungry bellies. The fake money is a great opportunity for them to learn about basic financial literacy. The students will be positively rewarded for meeting expectations on a daily basis like turning homework in on time. Students are learning to not only meet the expectations but they are learning to save money and how to make good decisions so they can purchase "something better" later. Aside from getting snacks, they will be able to purchase certificates like free tardy pass, bathroom pass, or free choice of a fun activity.
They are deserving of these resources to boost their academic learning and their overall well-being.
