Our school educates all learners. My students come to school each day full of energy with a ready to learn attitude. I am impressed often by each child's willingness to learn, accept challenges, collaborate with one another, and put forth best effort.
In my classroom, I use the Responsive Classroom approach.
This approach is a way of teaching that creates a safe, challenging, and joyful classroom for all students. As a teacher who uses the responsive classroom approach, I understand that all of the students' needs- academic, social, emotional, and physical- are important.
As this approach offers practical strategies for teaching, my students learn cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, self-control, and empathy.
My Project
These books will help me to continue to create a Responsive Classroom. These books will also be effective in helping me to develop my teaching strategies for engaging academics, positive community, effective management, and developmentally responsive teaching.
I believe this approach to be highly effective for my own teaching and student learning.
These books will also help me in the following areas that the Responsive Classroom approach believes to be important: leading a daily morning meeting, teaching students the specific skills they need to participate successfully, treating mistakes in a positive way, using positive language, teaching in ways that build excitement about learning, giving students opportunities to reflect on their learning, and reaching out to parents.
I am eager to continue building a classroom community for all of my students!
