This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Science is a journey that I want my students to embark on. The possibilities and learning opportunities are endless once you spark their imaginations.
My 5th grade students are a very inquisitive and enlightening group of kids.
The excitement they bring to learning and challenging themselves always leaves me in awe. Even though our school is in a low socio-economic area, they come to school every day ready to learn. Our school has very little resources and no monies to purchase the essential resources our students need to effectively teach and engage them.
My Project
When students are given the opportunities to explore, to do hands-on projects and investigations, and to visually see the content being taught to them, they are captivated and eager to learn. Having a model of the body to manipulate, science investigations, and other resources that can enhance their learning make all the difference in the world. Students will learn about how our body works, in particular the interconnectedness of the respiratory, digestive, and excretory systems. We will be able to perform various experiments and create various projects.
Reading about science from a textbook alone is not how students learn and become motivated.
I need your help to bring science to life and to make it meaningful. We never know who the next Nobel Prize recipient in science will be. That student might be in my class right now...I surely believe it.
