My Students
My students are in an urban, public school. One of the biggest challenges my students have is resources for intervention groups. I work with students that are struggling in academics and need to be inspired by engaging and meaningful lessons. These supplies help these lessons.
Our classrooms are inclusion classrooms for students with special needs.
Differentiated instruction is a normal part of the students' day. Student interests vary between sports, singing, art, fashion design, and nature, but all students are interested when in small groups. My students love to share the happenings in their lives. They are compassionate listeners and respectful of each other's feelings. We work harder than any other student in the class to overcome our disabilities and to try and fit in. Having better resources will help them overcome some obstacle for them to learn.
My Project
Donations to this project will help improve lessons and engagement for my students while in small groups. This will give them opportunities to actively participate while in groups, have resources to create meaningful notes, and help them become independent while using lamination of visual charts, folders for organization, and have the resources to complete their work without the worry of how am I going to get a folder, marker, or calculator.
Ultimately, my students' lives can change for the better by becoming more engaged in class, confident, and become better students for the future.
This will allow them to be more independent, organized, and not worry about supplies needed and focus on academic instruction.
