My Students

I am a teacher of English Learners in a low-income, high-poverty school district. My elementary school students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. These challenges are both academic and social-emotional.

Despite these challenges, my students have a love for learning and give their best effort every day.

Our vibrant school community embraces diversity in every form. We celebrate the inclusion of all students in our programs and classrooms.

My students not only work hard on building their academic skills but also on their social skills. I am always amazed at the perseverance, bravery, and resilience they have when they arrive at our school with little or no English and succeed!

My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers is a website full of fun, engaging resources for teachers and students. I love the materials on this website because there are selections of both digital and traditional lessons. I especially like using vocabulary lessons for my students.

My English Learners enjoy the interactive lessons available in all subject areas!

Although school is in person this year, there is always the chance that my students could be quarantined due to Covid. Teachers Pay Teachers materials are very useful for distance learning as well as in person.
