This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at our school enjoy learning and love coming to school. School for them is a safe space where learning is limitless. 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch as our students come from low-income households. Many of our children deal with various socioeconomic disadvantages; this affects their overall well-being in and out of school.
My Project
These materials will serve as resources for indoor recess and math centers. On rainy days when students are unable to play outside, these materials will be used for indoor recess. The games listed will encourage my students' healthy cognitive development in a fun and engaging manner. In addition, there are amazing STEM building kits on our list that can also be used for math centers. These materials will help enhance my children's learning experiences. This is my first year teaching face-to-face and I would like start the new school year with these resources that will help us combine playtime with education!
