This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the 21st century, math, computer, and science skills are vital but resources can be expensive, and public schools across the country are struggling to stay up-to-date when facing budget cuts.

My goal is to make sure all my students have an equal shot at a great education by providing them with a variety of digital and hands-on lessons on a daily basis and to make sure that they also enjoy learning with a variety of resources.

My class has children from culturally, economically, and educationally diverse backgrounds. I want to provide them with stimulating lessons and access to resources that they cannot get without guidance. These resources will provide many learning experiences and lessons for them.

My Project

It is important that my scholars and I have the essential tools to continue the school year successfully. With your support, my scholars and I will strive to do our best to overcome distance learning challenges and persevere for success.

This project will provide a whiteboard/marker/eraser set for every child and a document reader that will allow me to provide high-quality instruction for my first graders during our Zoom meetings and independent work time.

The whiteboard will be used to model lessons and display their work. The students will also be able use their whiteboard set for much needed print and writing practice. I plan to use the Osmo set as a document reader to share stories and text, show examples, and model worksheets. Later, when we are back physically in the classroom, I will use the Osmo set for independent centers for early finishers. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will provide me with ready-to-use resources that can supplement my lessons and support my instruction.

Distance learning may be challenging but with these essential materials and tools, I am hoping to increase student engagement and provide high-quality instruction for all my scholars.
