My Project
With a variety of special education students with moderate and severe needs, we are going to be utilizing a self-contained special education classroom for the upcoming school year. We have had small doses of this in the past, and have seen how when used appropriately it can be beneficial for some students (just like inclusion). These students have a wide range of disabilities, apraxia, autism, ODD, Down syndrome, non-verbal, etc.
When needs are not able to be met in the general education classroom, it is then time to think outside the box and figure out how best to meet the kids' needs.
That is why we are started a self-contained room . We are in need of so many resources to help us set up structured tasks and stations to help the room flow correctly for these students to help increase their learning and help them be successful in school.
I am requesting Teachers Pay Teachers resources which will provide us one of the best ways to get us started on this new adventure. With TPT gift cards I will be able to find an abundance of online resources, activities, practice and materials suitable for every student's needs and ability level. The flexibility of gift cards will allow me to search on the day, download, print and go to my students quickly with whatever resources we need!
