My Project
My Prek-2nd grade students need a resource space where they can stay calm and focused. Right now, we have a large room with desks, but no space to de-escalate students when they become frustrated or upset. A room divider and a calming light would be very useful in creating a space to help students manage their emotions and practice coping strategies. It would also create a safe space that is semi-separate from instructional activities that are done in the resource room. The room is also utilized by other staff members who also work with students who have an IEP.
