Our school is a Louisiana Purple Star School of Distinction. "The state of Louisiana recently passed a state-wide policy that will allow our schools to display their commitment to military-connected students and their families." We are a K-5th-grade school with about 750 students. Our school is privileged to serve military families and children who are stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base.
We take great pride in meeting the needs of every student in our school!
My goal is to offer our military students and families a wide variety of age-appropriate books to help with situations a military child experiences. I believe it is so important to have books that incorporate topics and/or experiences that military students and families may be dealing with. I hope we can also educate all non-military students on the experiences that come with being a military child!
