Researching and Presenting in the Classroom with Asus Chromebooks

My Students

My students are a group of eager and motivated 3rd graders who are full of energy and excited to learn each day. They get even more excited when they are able to complete research and work on their Genius Hour projects.

My classroom consists of many different needs and learning styles.

In a classroom of 17, I have students who are gifted, high achieving, and receiving ESE services. I have 11 students who are gifted and have EP goals. Many of their goals pertain to research and presentation. Having access to more computers in the classroom, will give more students the opportunity to complete research needed for their projects and allow them to create presentations to show their expertise while also allowing them the opportunity to complete online activities tied to our curriculum.

My Project

The students will use the chromebooks for research. They will become an expert in a field that they have chosen to study. Once they have completed their research, they will then use the Chromebook to create a project to present their learning. They may use google slides to create a presentation, google docs to prepare an essay, or any other creative way they come up with to present their expertise. They will also use the chromebooks to work on websites that are tied to our curriculum. i- Ready math and Reading plus are a few examples. In a classroom of 17 students, we struggle every day with having enough computers for all the students to complete their projects and online classwork. Adding 2 more chromebooks will enable more students to have access to the technology they need to use each day.
