My students are , avid readers, enthusiastic, inquisitive, compassionate, and creative learners.
As gifted and talented learners, researching is so important to my students and truly helps in keeping them engaged.
Research helps to prepare them for the upper grades as well as life-long learning.
My children enjoy learning about new topics and taking notes on what they learned. We recently began using the laptops in the classroom and they are so excited about going through the writing process and publishing their work.
My Project
Recently our class was given a laptop cart and the children have been researching for their persuasive writing on topics they feel strongly about. They are very excited to use word processing and write their ideas on the computer. They have been taking notes on their topics and writing drafts on the computer. We have learned how to save our files and use jump drives so our work doesn't get lost. They really enjoy searching and creating images that match their text. Many children are ready to publish and print. We haven't been able to print much because our classroom printer is broken.
I'm hoping that a new printer will help the students see their hard work come to life!
