Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a low-income, high crime area. They don't have many of the opportunities and luxuries that many other kids their age have. Despite the "things" they lack, what they don't lack is drive and determination!

It is challenging, as an educator, to provide all of the things our students need.

I am hoping this grant will afford my students some of the necessities they need to become successful this school year and for years to come. Thank you in advance for your support.

My Project

We have one computer in our classroom and one printer. The computer is very old and out dated and I purchased the printer myself. I would like my students to be able to research proper health diets, how to begin to live a healthy life style and to infuse exercise into their daily lives. The students are excited about opening a health bar that provides the necessary tools for a healthy life style. My students spend hours playing computer games on their phones, they could easily use to time to research healthy lifestyles and how to run a business within the school.
