This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher at P.S. 335 located in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. I have taught 3-5 grade in the past 6 years. This year, I am teaching Math/Science in a cluster position. Our school has not have a science program in ten years and we have very few resources and materials.
I am working with grades K and 6. I will need science literature like the Eyewitness Books. Other reference books will be useful for research purposes. Books like, Oh Yuck! The Encyclopedia of Everything Nasty and What's Happening to Me?, will help answer the burning questions that students have about their bodies.
My students will learn science through inquiry and exploration. I want them to utilize these books for research and during independent reading time.
