My Project
Including representative fiction books by Angie Thomas and the Track series by Jason Reynolds in a 6th grade classroom library is essential for fostering empathy and understanding among students.
Angie Thomas's books, like The Hate U Give, tackle important social issues and provide diverse perspectives that resonate with young readers.
Jason Reynolds's Track series, featuring relatable characters overcoming personal challenges, inspires resilience and self-discovery. Both authors create engaging, thought-provoking stories that reflect the diverse experiences of students, promoting inclusivity and cultural awareness.
These books not only enhance literacy skills but also encourage meaningful discussions about identity, justice, and perseverance, making them invaluable additions to any classroom library.
