Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is important to me that every child in my classroom feels valued and seen. Giving children the opportunity to see and read storybooks about their culture, country and experiences can be a powerful moment. I encourage my students to share stories and information about their ethnic backgrounds so that we can learn from each other and create an inclusive and safe classroom community.
Expanding our classroom library will help incorporate their life experience into daily lessons making them engaging and meaningful.
Additionally, I hope to spark a love for reading and give my students time during a busy day to curl up and read a good book.
