My Project

This year more than ever I am re-igniting the passion for reading in my students! Yes, literacy instruction of phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension are key building blocks to a child's academic success. But allowing children to put those skills into practice with rich stories which grab their interest will motivate them to keep reading.

I want the students who enter my classroom doors to feel seen, heard, loved, and safe.

Variety of stories is key. Representation of characters that are similar to readers is empowering and exciting; representation of characters that are different to readers is empathy-encouraging and mind-opening.

I appreciate your donations which will be helpful to inspire a kind and empathetic generation!
