This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us restore our library. Some of the classic books in our library were destroyed from the flood caused by Hurricane Sandy.

I am a first grade teacher in a public school on Long Island, NY.

Many of my students come from homes where they do not have many books, or someone who can read to them. Over the last 14 years I have purchased thousands of books that my students love to read.

My Project

The books I have requested are all written by either Robert Munsch or Dr. Seuss. These authors have written many inspirational stories that are perfect for first graders to read or even just listen to. They expose my students to experiences they might not ever have.

The books I lost, written by these two authors, are just a small part of my class library but they are a truly important part.

Replacing them would help me put huge smiles on my students' faces.
