This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These kids are hardworking and resilient. Our kids have gone through some tough times, especially with Hurricane Harvey and the current flooding in the area.

These kids have been great since I got here to this school last year.

Last year, our varsity basketball team made the playoffs for the first time in 5 years, and we went 3 rounds deep in the playoffs, which is the first time that has happened since the early 80's.

We have a bunch of good kids, and some very athletic kids. We are replacing a big Senior group, and will be young this year, and need resources this year to be competitive.

My Project

Last year, our community was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Many families here lost everything, and are on the road to rebuilding. Luckily, our basketball facilities were not initially damaged. At the end of the season though, damage was found in the roof of the old gym and mold and asbestos were found. Because of that, many things that were stored in there were damaged, such as our basketballs. Please help us replace a few of the basketballs that we lost. It will help us out! Thank you!
