This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The start of our students school year will be remembered for strong winds, torrential rains and deadly floods. We were recently hit by bands of rain produced by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas on August 26, 2017. Our students were deeply affected by this natural disaster that claimed their homes and communities. Most of our parents and students have lost everything that they owned, including their school uniforms and school supplies.

My kindergartners always walk in with a smile on their faces ready to learn.

They always strive for academic readiness no matter what the situation is. Our students live in a low income neighborhood and our school is Title One. I am asking for your support to help make our classroom whole again. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated. #WeAreStrongerTogether

My Project

Replacing these crayons, markers, pencils, glue and construction paper needed for school, in addition to repairing and/or repurchasing other losses due to the hurricane will be a tremendous strain on the families, and in some cases impossible. The donations for this project will improve classroom academic achievement as it is important that the students have the necessary school supplies in order to have a successful school year.

As a teacher, it is my utmost responsibility to create a stress free learning environment for all of my students.

Our parents and students have so much to be worried about; educational needs should not be one of those worries.
