I am in a unique situation. I am getting the opportunity to start a new band program for a new inner-city middle school in Oklahoma City. This will be my second year teaching and my first in this type of school. I strongly believe that every child deserves a great education and all the materials they need for that experience. There are a few items that we still need in order to give these students a great band experience in middle school.
They are all great kids that just need someone to believe in them and tell them that they are made for a greater purpose.
I hope to be the light in their world this year.
We started a new band program, and we are continuing to try and find new ways to save money for our program and for our students. One way to save money is to do our own minor repairs in class. The project will help provide the tools needed to do the repairs in our classroom. These will also serve as a learning tool for the students by helping them learn how to do their own repairs instead of having to spend money sending their instruments to the music store. Please help us fund this project and our students' future. Thank you all!
