My students need a flip-top mobile table to use during makerspace time.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Sumida's classroom raised $523

My Students
I am a teacher/librarian at an elementary school that services many Navy and Army families in Hawaii. The library is the center of encouraging literacy on our Preschool-6th grade campus. About half of the students at my school are military dependents who move locations every three years. In recent years, I have implemented an upper grade makerspace where students experiment and create using technology tools. I'd like to provide a flip-top mobile table that can be put away when students finish working in the makerspace.
This makerspace allows students to collaborate and critically think about concepts they are learning while using STEM principles.
My Project
My library space is rather small so an additional makerspace table would help my student inventors and engineers. This table could be folded up and packed away until the next recess or class period without impeding access to the book stacks. Or, if students are involved in a crucial step in their makerspace creation, the whole table could be rolled out of the way so students could continue the next day. This project is actually for a another flip-top table since the others are in such high demand for project use.
A new table will ensure there is an assigned place for makerspace activities such as using the 3D pen, building with LEGO bricks and programming with Bloxels.
Students will benefit from having the additional space to work on their projects.
