This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I am teaching technology! I am teaching classes from PK-5th. While I'm teaching an array of grades, most of the classes are from PK-5th Grade. The majority of the school students are Hispanic/Latino, and many of them speak Spanish when they are at home. My students work very hard and are super excited to learn and grow.
This year, most of our students are joining classes remotely from their houses to stay safe through this epidemic.
With economic disadvantages, all students are receiving both breakfast and lunch in school.
My Project
In this project I’m asking to receive a heating press that we can use to help our students design their own shirt and other items. This year has been especially challenging and introducing our students to an outlet of designing clothing to express themselves will be an amazing way for us to wind down the year.
While students are able to create their designs digitally, I am encouraging them to use sublimation markers as well.
By having a proper heat press I will be able to make sure their designs come out as they intended them to. What better way to express ourselves than on our own clothing!
